A COLLABORATIVE MENTAL HEALTH PRACTICE
Johnna Hjersman Everson
LIMHP, CMFT, RYT 200
Being a human is hard. Being in relationships with other humans? Also hard. Most of us weren't taught specific skills for dealing with emotions, stress, relationship challenges, or trauma. But I truly believe that we all have the capacity to learn and the innate ability to heal.Â
I work with individuals and relationship systems as they navigate life — moving through change, overcoming difficulties, repairing past wounds, and building deeper, stronger, more meaningful connections. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.Â
I offer a compassionate, judgment-free space to all my clients and believe in the deeply healing powers of humor, honesty, acceptance, and emotional expression. I will work with you to co-create a space where you feel safe enough to be vulnerable, curious enough to explore what is beneath the surface, and confident enough to take steps toward meaningful change.
Mindfulness and somatic awareness are the foundations for all my work. I draw from Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I also offer EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, an evidenced-based trauma treatment approach. I am a queer-affirming and kink-affirming therapist and have experience working with ethical non-monogamy.
Being a human is hard, but it's better when we know we aren't alone!
