A COLLABORATIVE MENTAL HEALTH PRACTICE
Margo Botkin
LIMHP
I am a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) who offers in-person or telehealth counseling services to clients in Nebraska or Iowa. I am passionate about working with individuals struggling with perinatal mental health issues, stress, grief, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Together, we determine your goals and develop a treatment plan to meet your needs.
In sessions, I utilize a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and have also completed training in EMDR. No single approach will meet every individual’s needs, so I can provide a range of therapeutic modalities.
I graduated from Creighton University with my undergraduate degree in psychology in 2011. I went back to school in 2014 and earned my master's in clinical counseling at the University of Nebraska in 2016. Upon graduation, I was awarded the College of Education Spring 2016 Outstanding Graduate Student Award for my work in neurobehavioral research and the Counseling Graduate Student Award for Excellence.
I spent 11 years from 2012-2023 working at Boys Town serving families and children in various roles but my favorite time was spent as a counselor in the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. My passion for families, motherhood, and perinatal mental health grew when I had my own two children in 2019 and 2020. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, painting by numbers, getting outside when the weather allows, and reading.
My mission as your therapist is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental environment that empowers you to achieve your goals. Thank you for considering me to be part of your journey.
